Santee

Growing yet very established community just over Colwes Mountain from San Diego. A little history from Santee’s very own website reads “The City of Santee’s evolution from being a small, backcountry village in the late nineteenth century to becoming a diverse and multifaceted modern city is a fascinating and colorful story. From the community’s original founders, George and Jennie Cowles, Hosmer McKoon, and Milton Santee himself, to those who led the incorporation drive toward it becoming a city almost a century later, Santee’s history is filled with people who shared a vision of this community becoming something truly special.”
“Special” is exactly how I would describe Santee with all of the amenities and hidden gems… For example:
- Santee Lakes ” Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve is an award winning, 190 acre Park and Campground surrounding seven scenic lakes filled with recycled water. The Park provides a safe and tranquil setting for camping, fishing, picnics, fitness, bird watching, boating, biking and special events in a natural environment.”
- Trolley Square shopping and Trolley end of the line. Avoid traffic getting to work, parking downtown, going to ballgame, or going to Old Town. Trolley Square is ever growing with great restaurants opening all the time. Home to Phil’s BBQ, Chipotle, Oggies, and more….!
- Santee Drive in, how often do you get the opportunity to spend a warm summer night watching a movie in the open air? Great family fun!
- Santee is also home to many Breweries for adult fun!
Luckily Santee homes are still affordable for many although as we continue to grow in popularity, home values rise.
